Solar Garden – Carver County
Project Value: $18.7 Million
Overview / Details
Sherman Associates is pioneering a way for renters and landlords to utilize solar energy.
Sherman has developed two solar gardens; a 4-megawatt garden in Carver County, and a 2.75-megawatt garden in Washington County. Both gardens provide clean renewable energy to 22 Sherman-owned properties in Minnesota, reaching 4000+ renters.
This program is giving renters a green energy option that is typically only available to homeowners. Through Sherman’s investment and resident participation, together they are able to make impactful changes for the environment. This has brought residents together to create a common bond and sense of purpose.
The community benefits when there are significant investments made in green initiatives, like solar. Sherman is proud to provide this benefit and proud to make a difference.
In addition to the direct benefits, residents will see, this program speaks to the heart of Sherman Associates. “The solar power generation will make Sherman Associates’ properties as conscientious and sustainable as possible. Right now, we think it’s the right thing to do. You start doing what you can do to keep your carbon footprint down.” -George Sherman
