Overview / Details

Named after Duluth’s first school teacher, Jerome Merritt, Merritt School was originally constructed in 1911. After acquiring the property, Sherman Associates utilized bond and conventional financing to transform the nearly century-old school building into 20 apartment homes.

Today, Merritt School Apartments is an intermingling of the old meets new. Historical elements such as woodwork, slate chalkboards, vaulted ceilings, transoms, built-ins, and archways can be found within the property, pairing beautifully with modern kitchens, bathrooms, and updated electricity and plumbing.

Minutes away from downtown Duluth, Merritt School offers residents the appeal of a well-connected, quaint neighborhood. Residents can enjoy several parks located just a short walk away, as well as quick access to major roadways and the waterfront of St. Louis Bay.
