Sherman Associates completed the substantial rehabilitation of the 800 West Broadway office building in 2016.
Originally constructed in 1925 as a car dealership, the building had been sitting vacant and in major disrepair for a number of years. Sherman Associates recognized the opportunity to bring a significant number of jobs, educational opportunities, and vitality to the area through the building’s restoration.
800 West Broadway is home to the MN DEED Workforce Center, Minneapolis Public Schools (with Community College Partners), Northpoint Health, and retail tenants.
The 800 West Broadway project has been widely recognized for its merit by stakeholders on a local and state level, including: The City of Minneapolis, State of Minnesota, Hawthorne Neighborhood Council, and the West Broadway Business Coalition.
At the project’s groundbreaking, Governor Mark Dayton remarked, “This is an important step to improve economic opportunity for the people of North Minneapolis”.
