Overview / Details

NorShor Arts Center is the adaptive reuse and historic rehabilitation of the NorShor Theatre (1910) and adjacent Annex Building (1926), located in downtown Duluth, Minnesota.

The NorShor development is a unique private, nonprofit and public partnership between Sherman Associates Development LLC, the Duluth Playhouse, and the City of Duluth.

Once fully-restored, NorShor will constitute a first-class, community-based contemporary regional arts center with full performing arts education and production facilities. The historic restoration will house a 700-seat Mainstage theatre, wine bar, music and theatre classrooms, and Lights On Duluth – a visitor service center serving the Performing Arts community in Duluth.

NorShor will be fully handicap accessible with a skywalk connection to nearby parking. It is expected to bring a revitalized use to this important part of the city, bringing new employment opportunities and visitors, filling vacant retail spaces, enhancing public safety by adding users, and catalyzing other community and economic development opportunities.
