Richard Kiemen promoted to Chief Operations Officer, Janelle Hielscher promoted to Chief Financial Officer, and Paula Beck promoted to Executive Vice President and General Counsel.

{MINNEAPOLIS, MINN, May 12, 2023}— Sherman Associates recently announced the promotions of Richard Kiemen to Chief Operations Officer, Janelle Hielscher to Chief Financial Officer, and Paula Beck to Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Kiemen, Hielscher, and Beck oversee all business entities at Sherman, which include over 600 team members, and the development, management, and maintenance of over 7,000 multifamily rental units, over 660,000 square feet of commercial space, five hotels, four Starbucks stores, three restaurants, and two solar gardens that are owned and managed by Sherman throughout the Midwest, Colorado, and Florida. As Chief Operations Officer, Richard Kiemen will be responsible for planning and implementing Shermans’ business strategies, plans, and procedures as well as leading operations of Development & Construction, Multifamily, Hospitality & Retail Operations, Facilities, and Commercial. Kiemen’s leadership will ensure the development of Sherman’s strategic goals and objectives and the overall management of the organization. As Chief Financial Officer, Janelle Hielscher will oversee Finance & Accounting and Asset Management. She will continue to lead the financial reporting compliance of all divisions of Sherman including Development, Construction, Corporate, Multifamily and Commercial properties, and Hospitality & Retail Operations. Hielscher will maintain communication and relationships with Sherman’s investors, lenders, and partners. As Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Paula Beck will lead Legal, Corporate Compliance, Human Resources, and Administration. She will continue to provide legal direction to Sherman’s internal teams and lead engagement with outside counsel and other experts to support Sherman’s growth as it expands in the Mountain West region, Milwaukee, Tampa, and other new markets.
