Sherman Associates scores 3 Real Estate Awards from the Minnesota Real Estate Journal
Sherman Associates brought home three awards from the Real Estate Awards hosted by the Minnesota Real Estate Journal! The Real Estate Awards celebrates the achievements, successes, and highlights from all sectors of Minnesota's commercial real estate industry.
Congratulations to Trevor Martinez, Senior Developer, for winning the highly competitive Emerging Leader of the Year Award. Martinez is the developer of Northstar Center East, now known as Groove Lofts at Northstar Center in Minneapolis and Landmark Towers in St. Paul. Both redevelopments are office-to-housing conversions and the two largest Historic Tax Credit projects in Minnesota, and Martinez led the Sherman team in closing on both of them in 2023. Last year, Martinez also delivered Aster in Coon Rapids, MN, and completed the rehabilitation of Sherman's corporate headquarters in the J.I. Case Building. Outside of Sherman, Martinez joined the board of NAIOP Minnesota and taught varying real estate-focused courses at the University of Minnesota as an adjunct instructor.
Trevor Martinez, Emerging Leader of the YearSherman Associates took home two awards for its new corporate headquarters in the J.I. Case Building in the Office and Interior Design - Urban Office categories, nominated by BDH Design, the interior design partner on the project. Sherman completed a historic rehabilitation of the building with a new collaboration-focused office for its headquarters and refreshed lower level and first floor food and beverage and retail space boasting approximately 20,000 SF. The most significant alteration of the building was the addition of a 7,000 SF rooftop patio. The patio provides space for a tenant-operated rooftop bar/restaurant, Sherman’s headquarters, and a pool, sauna, and guest lounge called Solus Spa operated by Canopy by Hilton Minneapolis Mill District located next door.
Aster, a 192-unit luxury multifamily development, was a finalist in the Suburban Multifamily Northeast and Interior Design – Multifamily North categories, nominated by Kaas Wilson Architects, as well as Landmark Towers for the Most Significant Investment Sale Transaction in 2023 category, nominated by Transwestern.
