Restaurateur David Fhima Serving as Visionary for Food & Beverage in Sherman Associates’ Harmonia Development in Minneapolis

{MINNEAPOLIS, MINN., January 10, 2023}—Sherman Associates and David Fhima announce the vision for a new food & beverage concept within the Harmonia development, located at the southwest corner of South Washington Avenue and 3rd Avenue South in Minneapolis at 255 2nd Avenue South. Fhima is a local, award-winning restaurateur.

Fhima is committed to the development and excited to work with Sherman on what he calls “the premier new development in downtown Minneapolis.”

In August 2022, Sherman acquired the Harmonia development site, which is a full city block. Sherman’s concept includes three buildings that deliver a 10-story, mixed-income mid-rise apartment; a 20+ story, market-rate high-rise apartment; and a 25+ story, mixed-use high-rise building on the site.



The Fhima family will work in collaboration with Sherman to create a vibrant food & beverage district including a flagship restaurant they will own and operate with other local chefs. They will lead the design and recruitment efforts to deliver optimal restaurant and retail spaces within the site along South Washington Avenue.

Fhima is the founder and executive chef of Fhima’s Minneapolis, Artisans & Spice Catering, and Mother Dough Bakery and opening this spring, Maison Margaux. He is also the executive chef for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx and was recognized as the Twin Cities Business 100: Innovators and Newsmakers to Watch in 2023.

Sherman seeks to produce an engaging dining and retail district to serve the neighborhoods downtown including the Mill District, North Loop, and Central Business District neighborhoods, as well as the future residents in the $400 million redevelopment of the block.
