Sherman Associates Completes $2 Million Renovation at Aloft Minneapolis Hotel in the Mill District

Milestone to be marked by celebration event on September 24

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (September 23, 2026) — Sherman Associates has completed a $2.07 million renovation of Aloft Minneapolis Hotel located in the Mill District neighborhood at 900 Washington Avenue South.

The 155-room hotel has received a comprehensive guest room and corridor refresh, including new carpeting, wall coverings, lighting, bedding, and furniture.

Developed and opened by Sherman in 2008, Aloft is part of the Marriott International brand and serves business and leisure travelers visiting downtown Minneapolis. Its location provides easy access to popular venues including U.S. Bank Stadium, the Armory, and the Guthrie Theater.

The reinvestment in the hotel reflects Sherman’s long-term commitment to downtown Minneapolis and its broader approach of enhancing its existing properties, creating welcoming destinations for guests, visitors, residents, and businesses, while strengthening the communities it serves.

Aloft is one of several properties along the Washington Avenue corridor that Sherman has developed and continues to own and operate. Through other developments including the J.I. Case Building which houses Mill District Event Spaces and Solus Spa, Canopy by Hilton Minneapolis Mill District, East End Apartments, The Vicinity Apartments, Encore Apartments, O2 Luxury Tower, and Ladder 260 Apartments, Sherman has helped shape the neighborhood's evolution while preserving the character that makes the district distinctive.
