Riverside Plaza Receives National Preservation Award
[gallery] On November 1st, 2013, The National Trust for Historic Preservation presented its National Trust/HUD Secretary’s Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation, for the restoration of the Riverside Plaza in Minneapolis, MN. The project, part of an over $65 million renovation, used federal and state historic tax credits to help upgrade all 1303 units within the community. Riverside Plaza is one of the largest HUD‐supported projects in the United States, and the largest affordable housing development in Minnesota. The National Preservation Awards are given to individuals, nonprofit organizations, public agencies and corporations whose efforts have benefited their communities through preservation of architectural and cultural heritage. This prestigious award was presented to Sherman Associates at the Richard H. Driehaus National Preservation Awards ceremony in Indianapolis on November 1st, 2013.
