President Chris Sherman was identified as a key leader in Minnesota’s commercial real estate development industry in December 2022. Sherman Associates pursues Chris Sherman’s vision of building affordable housing with sustainable design. Sherman Associates opened Verdant (St. Paul, MN), Ursa (Fridley, MN), and Beam (Minneapolis, MN) in the last two years, all of which provide high-quality, sustainable homes at 50%-80% AMI. Verdant is the first pre-certified, mid-rise, Passive House multifamily building of this construction type in this climate zone. Additionally, Chris Sherman seeks projects that have a positive social impact. Sherman Associates completed its Moment apartment tower in Minneapolis this year which houses the non-profit Firefighters For Healing and its transitional healing center within the development. It provides no-cost suites to the families of burn victims being treated at the Hennepin Healthcare burn center.
