2019 Minnesota Preservation Award – Canopy by Hilton Minneapolis Mill District

Canopy by Hilton Minneapolis Mill District received a 2019 Minnesota Preservation Impact Award by RETHOS, for the re-imagining and historic renovation of Thresher Square.

"Built in 1900 and 1904, the Advance Thresher Company and Emerson-Newton Implement Company buildings have stood as sentinels of the past in a sea of parking lots East of Downtown Minneapolis. The identical Sullivanesque buildings were part of a vital industrial neighborhood that once produced farm implements that were shipped across the Midwest. The buildings were saved from demolition in the 1970's, and listed in the National Register of Historic Places and as a City of Minneapolis Landmark. The buildings were combined into one property and renovated into office in the 1980's and renamed, Thresher Square." - Hess, Roise, and Company
