Gender pronouns are the words we use when talking to or about someone. We use them when we’re referring to

the people we’re interacting with. She went to the hardware store. He is reviewing the budget.

 

Not everyone identifies with a binary male/female gender categorization. Including pronouns when introducing ourselves

creates a safe space for others to identify themselves. It gives people the freedom and opportunity to express themselves

with words that best describe who they are and how they would like others to refer to them.
