Senior Developer Paul Keenan has been with Sherman Associates for seven years. Keenan manages the development of multi-family housing projects from the initial steps of site selection through stabilization. This process includes design, public approvals, underwriting, obtaining financial commitments and closing of financing, as well as overseeing construction and lease up until permanent financing is in place.
His diligence and industry expertise make him a critical member of the Sherman Associates team. Keenan is a prominent force in various Sherman communities throughout Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin and Iowa. His projects primarily focus on affordable housing and historic preservation, allowing working families’ access to affordable living, while also preserving historically significant buildings.
Keenan started his career in property management. From there he became interested in how the properties he managed performed financially and the economics behind using Section 42, ultimately leading him into development in 2010. Since joining Sherman Associates, Keenan’s motivation and determination has driven several projects comprising of new construction, historic adaptive reuse, unit-occupied rehab, and unit condo conversion. One of his projects, 180-unit Longfellow Station, was awarded the Best in Real Estate Award from the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Hamline University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of St. Thomas.
