Rob Kost | Vice President of Commercial | Sherman Associates




Rob Kost is the Vice President of Commercial, has been with Sherman Associates for ten years and oversees all commercial leasing. He is charged with leasing vacant retail, office and industrial spaces and assists the commercial property management team with supervisory duties and projects. Kost leases commercial space, examines market trends and finds opportunities for new and existing commercial developments. Kost connects people and businesses with the projects that fit their needs. 

Kost’s position benefits several divisions within Sherman including the financial and residential property management departments. His role drives the success of our Twin Cities’ developments, adding to the amenities provided by each site.

“I am good at connecting people and projects to each other,“ says Kost, “I enjoy anything that is new and am comfortable digging right into the newest or planned Sherman Associates’ projects.”

Kost paired his lifelong knowledge and work experience in the construction industry with a business degree from St. John’s University. He switched from construction to commercial real estate shortly after graduation and completed his first apartment purchase syndication at the age of twenty-four. For twenty years, Kost was employed at several prominent commercial firms in the Twin Cities and focused on medical office space, office space and retail space with some corporate consulting work. He holds a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University, is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) since 2004, completed the Executive Real Estate Program through Harvard Business School, is the immediate past President for the Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors and is currently on the board of the St. Joseph’s School of Music.
